Fishing
Report: As the fish often tend to be muddy, many find
catch-and-release the best type of fishing for this lake. With the
rainbow averaging around 2 pounds and often reaching up to eight,
many prefer to use flies and small spinning lures to entice the
fish. Be sure to visit Fishbc.com
for angling information!
Viewscape:
The rolling terrain surrounding the lake is covered with an open
spruce, pine and aspen forest.
Shoreline:
Reeds border most of the lake, with very few shrubs on the actual
shoreline.

Crater
Lake: Crater Lake is a 10.77 ha / 26.60 acre lake that
is located southwest of Marmot. Stocked with rainbows and offering
a small Forest Service campsite at the end of a 1.6 km (1 mi.) hike.
Crater Lake is enclosed in a basin, as the name suggests, and you
are able to easily view the surrounding lodgepole pine forest that
blankets the surrounding rolling hills. Access to the lakeshore
is generally good through the open forest. Angler pressure is low.
Note:
Always check your current BC Fishing regulations before you start
fishing a new lake.
