Viewscape:
Situated in a low mountainous terrain. Spruce and Lodgepole
pine with some aspen and Douglas
fir make up the south side of the lake. The north side contains
Douglas fir, spruce and aspen with some open grassland areas.
Shoreline:
Peaty soil in several areas where it is backed up by marsh. Except
for some sandy beaches, the rest is forest soil. The north side
of the lake is accessible because of the lack of trees however a
band of alders along the south shore makes this side of Machete
not very accessible.
