Location:
At Williams Lake turn west
on Hwy 20. Continue approx 97 km (60 mi) to Hanceville (a.k.a. Lee's
Corner). Turn south off Hwy 20, travel 4.67 km (2.9 mi), crossing
the bridge over the Chilcotin River. Take the Taseko Lake Road and
follow it for about 85 km (52.7 mi). Just after passing Big Lake,
turn north. Vedan Lake is the first lake of a group of three which
also includes Elkin and Chaunigan.
Resorts
& Campsites:
There is a guest ranch resort with an airstrip situated on Elkin
Lake. There is also a very nice 6 vehicle BCFS campsite complete
with a gravel boat launch. This is an attractive site, in a treed
valley setting.

Fishing
Report: Wild Rainbows averaging in the 2 lb range with
some going to 5 lbs. The main attraction at Vedan Lake are the
Bull Trout which go up to 15 lbs. Trolling is popular and fishing
is good from June through September. Be sure to visit Fishbc.com

Viewscape:
Vedan is surrounded by hilly terrain with mixed coniferous and
deciduous forest, giving way to large mountains in the background.
Shoreline:
Consists of large boulders with poplar and alder trees.

Lakes
Elkin
Lake - Elkin Lake is situated just past Vedan on
the same road. Elkin is smaller than Vedan with a maximum depth
of 30.78 metres (101 ft). Fishing is much the same as Vedan
with Bull Trout being the most sought after game fish
