Location: Nestled in the rugged coast range lies Crazy Bear Lake and its surroundings lakes, are in the heart of the Chilcotin Alplands. This 4km. (2.5mi.) long and .75mi. wide is one of the main lakes in a valley of six lakes interconnected by a stream, headwaters of the famous Atnarko River. It is located in the Chilcotin south of Anahim Lake and west of Williams Lake. Travel by fly-in 35km. (22mi.) south west of Nimpo Lake over the mountains. It has no road access of any kind and its visitors reach this destination only by float plane or helicopter. The nearest float plane base is located in Nimpo Lake.

Resorts & Campsites: Crazy Bear Wilderness Lodge a fly-in wilderness fishing lodge that specializes in wilderness fishing for wild rainbow trout is located on Crazy Bear Lake. The lodge offers log cabins and which operates only from the middle of June until the middle of September. There is a beautiful sandy beach at the North end of the lake. There are walking trails which connect Crazy Bear Lake with five others within short walking distance.

Fishing Report: There are two main reasons why Crazy Bear Lake accounts for an abundant and healthy population of wild rainbow trout on the average of 14' up to 20'. Catch and release is the practice resulting low mortality rate which is a criteria practiced by most of its anglers visitors, has great promise for years to come. And the fish population benefit from a very moderate number of anglers per season.

Viewscape: Old growth pine forest, rugged snow capped mountains and glaciers, spectacular waterfall and an occasional sandy beach.

Shoreline: Crazy Bear Lake has a rocky shore with occasional sandy or gravel beach.

Wildlife in the area: Moose, deer, caribou, black bear, eagles and goats.
