Fishing Report: Another excellent fly fishing lake (although it is not a fly only lake) producing rainbows to 3 lbs. and larger. At such a high elevation, Calling lake will produce well in mid summer as long as irragation drawndown isn't too excessive. See Big Ok (island) Lake.
Be sure to visit Fishbc.com for angling information!

Shoreline: Scattered patches of sedge and grasses are found within the riparian area. Tree stumps are found along the shoreline and rock outcroppings are seen along the south shore. The shoreline substrate consists of large gravel and cobble where steep and where the slopes are gentle the substrate is organic with small amounts of wood debris. Calling is shallow and the extensive shoal area supports many different aquatic plant types along with leeches, waterboatmen, caddis fly larvae, fresh water shrimp (scuds), sedge, snails and chironomids.

Nearby Lakes

Little Ok Lake - A small lake 8 ha. (20 ac.) is located within minutes of Calling and also supports good numbers of rainbows in the 3 lb. and larger range.

Note: Always check your current BC Fishing regulations before you start fishing a new lake.
