Fishing
Report: A fly fisherman's dream. Plateau is a long
narrow spring fed lake, with extensive shoal areas stretching
from the shoreline to a deep trench running the length of the
lake. It supports good populations of aquatic insects including
a very good Caddisfly hatch in late June, early July. Dry fly
fishermen do very well if they hit the lake when the hatch is
on. Subject to periodical winterkill, fishermen should consult
with locals or fly shops as to the condition of the lake. With
the absence of winterkill for several years, Plateau is capable
of producing large Rainbows up to 10 lbs., but trout in the 3-4
lb. range are more the norm. This lake can yield spectacular results
and is definitely worth a couple days of fishing. Be sure to visit Fishbc.com
for angling information!
