Protecting
the grasslands, forests and wetlands of the Thompson Plateau, is Tunkwa
Lake Provincial Park. In 1966 both Tunkwa and Leighton Lakes and the
surrounding grasslands encompassing a total of 5,100 hectares were set
a side as a provincial park, which provides recreational opportunities.
