Location:
Located approximately 70 km. (43.4 mi.) northeast of the city
of Kamloops. There are a
couple different ways of reaching McGillivray. Perhaps the easiest
is via Heffley-Louis Creek Road. From Kamloops travel north on
Hwy. #5 (Yellowhead Hwy.) for 22.5 km. (14 mi.). Turn east (right)
onto the Heffley-Louis Creek Road. Follow this road past Heffley
Lake and east to McGillivray. Watch for signs marking the way.
Resorts
& Campsites:
A small 5 vehicle BCFS campsite with a cartop boat launch can
be found on the lake.

Fishing
Report: McGillivray provides a good Rainbow fishery
for trout up to 3 lbs. Reported to have a prolific Caddisfly hatch
during mid June to early July.

Little
McGillivray and Morrisey - Little McGillivray and
Morrisey are small lakes that provide good action for Rainbows
up to 4 lbs. Morrisey, like McGillivray Lake is reported to
have an excellent Caddisfly hatch along with good populations
of other insects. Both lakes have small BCFS campsites with
cartop boat launching. 4wd may be necessary. Check in Kamloops
or Chase for up-to-date information on road conditions and fishing
reports.
