Location:
Island Lake is located approximately 20 km. (12 mi.) northeast of
the Okanagan town of Winfield. From
the city of Kelowna travel north
on Hwy. #97 to Winfield. Turn east off Hwy. #97 onto the Beaver
Lake Road. Follow this road past Swalwell (Beaver) Lake and continue
onto the Dee Lake chain of lakes. Island Lake is part of a continuous
chain of 4 lakes.
Resorts
& Campsites:
A 15 vehicle public recreation site with campsite and boat launch
can be found on the west side of Island Lake. A resort can be found
on Dee Lake.

Fishing
Report: Part of the Dee Lake chain, Island Lake provides
a good Rainbow fishery for trout up to 2-1/2 lbs. Fly fishing, and
trolling with small lures, are both successful methods used on the
lake.

Lakes
Deer
and Crooked Lakes: Deer and Crooked Lakes are the
southern extensions of the Dee Lake chain. Fishing is much the
same as Island, with Rainbows reaching 2-1/2 lbs. A 15 vehicle
BCFS campsite can be found on Island Lake.
