Fishing Report: Arthur provides a Rainbow fishery for trout up to 2 lbs. Blessed with good quantities of aquatic insects, trout are well fed and fly fishermen meet with good success. Because of its elevation, Arthur fishes well throughout the open water season.
Be sure to visit Fishbc.com for angling information!

Viewscape: Like Bolean Lake, Arthur sits on top of a plateau in the Spa Hills. Balsam fir, Lodgepole pine, and Englemann spruce surround the lake. Slopes range from 1-5% on all sides except for the north shore where the slope ranges from 15-20%.

Shoreline: Common juniper and alder are interspersed amongst the conifer forests which reaches down to the lake shoreline. Large boulders are found along the shoreline with some extended out into the lake. Dead trees are found along the south shore and sedge can be found growing in patches around the lake. The littoral zone is made up of a flat, smooth bottom consisting of organic material that supports a thin growth of algae. Aquatic vegetation grows in patches around the lake. The bottom drops away gradually to a maximum depth of 10.1 m. (33.1 ft.) near the center of the lake.

Nearby Lakes

Spa Lake - Spa Lake is 77 ha. (190.2 ac.) in size and lies at an elevation of 1524 m. (4999 ft.). The lake can be found by travelling northeast past Bolean Lake and the Arthur Lake turnoff. Rainbows to 2+ lbs. are caught consistently throughout the summer months due to its high elevation. A small 5 vehicle BCFS campsite, with good road access, can be found at the lake.

Kernaghan and Wallensteen Lakes - Kernaghan and Wallensteen Lakes are located north of Spa Lake and can be accessed on a 4x4 road by turning north (left) before reaching the turn off to Arthur Lake. These 2 small lakes support Rainbow fisheries for trout to 2 lbs. Both have small BCFS campsites with cartop boat launching. Wallensteen and Kernaghan can also be accessed on much better road, from the town of Salmon Arm.

Note: Always check your current BC Fishing regulations before you start fishing a new lake.
