Link
Lake - Link Lake, 19 ha. (47 ac.) in size is found
a few kilometers to the east of Chain on the same road. Another
high use lake, however, it is stocked every year with 10,000 Pennask
Rainbow and provides an excellent fishery for trout up to 2 lbs.
Link has a small BCFS campsite with cartop boat launch.
Osprey
Lake - Osprey Lake lies near the east end of Link.
37 ha. (91 ac.) in size, and lying at an elevation of 1100 m.
(3608 ft.), Osprey supports a good Rainbow fishery with trout
in the 1-2 lb. range. 10,000 Pennask Rainbows were put into Osprey
in 1993. A 5 vehicle semi-open BCFS campsite can be found at the
lake.
Thirsk
Lake - Heading east toward the town of Summerland will
bring you to Thirsk Lake. 60 ha. (148 ac.) in size, it provides
the fisherman with a fishery for smaller Rainbows. With easy access
from the town of Summerland, and a 15 vehicle treed BCFS campsite,
Thirsk is often used as a base camp from which you can explore
this great fishing area.
Teepee Lakes - Teepee Lakes, a group of 3 small lakes
(Friday, Saturday and Sunday) can be found by turning off the
Summers Creek Road near Link and Osprey Lakes and heading north
on a private road (reservations may be necessary). Friday Lake
has a resort with housekeeping cabins and boats. Saturday and
Sunday are hike in lakes accessed from Friday. Both Friday and
Sunday have been stocked with Pennask/Beaver Rainbows. All three
are considered excellent fly fishing lakes providing fine, secluded
Rainbow fisheries for medium sized trout and some large ones reaching
up to 5 lbs.
