Location: Osoyoos
Lake is 43.5 kilometres long with sandy beaches.
On
the edge of the lake, the community of Osoyoos is located in the
Okanagan region in the south central interior of British Columbia,
Canada, approximately 400 Km east of Vancouver, BC, at the junction
of Highways 97 and 3 on the border of Washington State.
Extending
nearly 17 miles down the valley, Osoyoos Lake is formed by the Okanagan
River widening south of the Canadian Rockies. While quite deep at
the centre, Osoyoos Lake is the warmest fresh water lake in Canada.
A variety
of fish are available in Osoyoos Lake, including Large Mouth Bass,
Trout, Kokanee, Perch and White Fish. There are three boat launches
and several marinas where you can rent boats, skidoos, or paddle
boats. Other recreational opportunities available include canoeing,
swimming, boating, hiking, and waterskiing.

Camping:
Haynes Point Provincial Park offers 41 vehicle accessible campsites,
seven of which are double sites. Campsites can be reserved from
the May long weekend to the September Labour Day weekend. The maximum
length of stay is seven days due to the size and popularity of the
campground. The boat launch remains open year round.
The
marsh area of the park is home to a variety of wildlife. Blue-listed
species include the Western small footed myotis bat, Barn owl, Spadefoot
toad and Painted turtle. The Tiger salamander is a red-listed species
that calls the park home.
