The salmon fishing and saltwater sport fishing grounds from Courtenay, Comox to Nanaimo are a dream come true. Easily accessible via land, air, or water from anywhere on Vancouver Island as well as the BC mainland, the Gulf of Georgia area offers fine salmon fishing, boating and excellent weather.

The communities of Courtenay, Comox, Cumberland, Fanny Bay, Bowser, Qualicum Beach, Parksville, Nanoose Bay, Lantzville and Nanaimo offer vacationers unbelievable recreational opportunities and unmatched hospitality. From spectacular beaches to adventure caving to world-class golf, this area has it all. And of course when it comes to salmon fishing, or saltwater sport fishing, well you’ve just added another piece of heaven to this area.

Feeder Chinook are present during the winter months, however the main run of Chinook will start showing up as early as April, building through June and then peaking in August. Bluebacks are present in March while the bulk of the Coho run is from June through September. Northerns are present from late September to October. Pink and Sockeye salmon are good from late July to mid-September. Chum salmon follow from late September on through to late November. Lingcod and rockfish catches are reported to be good.
