Kokanee
Creek Provincial Park makes a great base camp from which to visit many
natural and historic attractions in this area of BC. The impressive
Kokanee Glacier Provincial
Park is located nearby.
For those
interested in exploring the areas human history the SS Moyie which is
the last of the sternwheelers on Kootenay Lake is located in nearby
Kaslo. Interesting mining ghost towns, Ainsworth Hotsprings and Woodbury
Mining Musuem, the Dukabour village near Castlegar and assorted dams
of phenomonal size are all worth a visit.
LOCATION
The
park is located on British Columbia Highway 3A, between the Kootenay
towns of Nelson
and Kaslo.

FACILITIES & ACTIVITIES
Camping
- The two campgrounds within the park both provide water, wood and
toilets. Picnic areas are available and changehouses are located
near the good beaches. Waterskiing is a popular activity on the
lake.
Fishing
& Boating - A boat launch is located near the eastern boundary
of the park. Anglers may try their luck for a variety of species within
the lake.
Hiking
& Trails - A variety of trails lead the visitor through the impressive
area.
